1Only newly sworn and professional staff who have been employed by their law enforcement agency for less than 1 year are eligible for the one-time any use option. Limited to California agencies.

2Loan amount under the $5,000 one-time provision can be for any use (but preference for work-related expenses such as uniforms, professional business attire, gear, equipment, etc.). Funds cannot be used for paying off existing TPCU loan or obligation. 

3Sworn law enforcement, fire and EMT who have been employed at their agency for more than 1 year are eligible for loans up to $7,500. Maximum loan amount of $5,000 qualifies for one-time any use provision. Loan amounts $5,001-$7,500, funds must be used for qualified professional use.  Qualified professional use includes work equipment, uniforms, supplies, firearms, ammunition, K-9 accessories, First Responder/Law Enforcement  approved education course (up to 1 year) and certification training courses such as POST required courses. NOTE: For educational and certification training use, funds must be disbursed directly to the training institution, or reimbursement to member if valid receipt provided showing payment made within preceding 60-days.
