SFPCU helps support Houston area police
When Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston in mid-2017, we decided to put out the call to our employees for donations to benefit the Houston Metro Police Union, who were strapped for resources in the aftermath of the disaster.
"We have officers that have not been home in four days," explained Robert Lozano in an email. "Those that did manage to get off to run home and change lost their vehicles because the station parking lot had flooded."
Upon hearing that all contributions would go directly to Houston-area police officers for much-needed supplies, our staff rose to the challenge and generously donated their own funds. In fact, staff surpassed their original fundraising goal, raising a total of $1,050. We know that Houston faces a lot of challenges on the road to recovery and we are sending our support to all residents and law enforcement in the area.
